Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get signed to your label?

Usually we approach artists that we are impressed by that we feel we could help and would be good for the label rather than the other way around. This is our preferred method rather than receiving unsolicited material. We are not actively seeking new artists at the moment as we are busy at work for our current roster and there are only so many hours in the day. That said, we do accept submissions but we need to be seriously impressed by what we receive to consider a signing.

The policy of the label is to sign artists that are creative and exciting and whose music we feel is honest and from the heart. Artists should be able to demonstrate that they have a grasp of self promotion and are doing well on their own for us to consider a signing. We cannot guarantee success but if we think you have what it takes we will enter into negotiations with you with a view to a contract.

If you would like to make a submission for us to consider, please send an EPK concisting of links to video and audio (YouTube, Soundcloud etc) or mp3s of three songs, a couple of promo photos and a one sheet biog of the band to us. We want to know general information about you and your history, gigs you have played and how much of a following you have. We would also like information of upcoming gigs. If you are a relatively new artist and don't have a following but have strong material and a general understanding of how to promote yourself we will still consider you.

In the first instance please send us an email with either a zip file containing your EPK or an introductory email and a link to a service such as Dropbox where we can download your EPK.

Submissions should be sent to demos@paperlabelrecords.co.uk

What do you do for your artists?
Primarily we produce recordings, normally using our in house producer and engineer team, and make the necessary arrangements for release and distribution. We also help artists with publishing arrangements and coordinate marketing strategies and live performance with their management. There are many, many things that come up on a day-to-day basis which need to be dealt with for an artist that are far too numerous to list but we deal with them all.
I'm a venue owner/promoter/agent and would like to book one of your artists for a live show. Who do I contact?
Email us at contact@paperlabelrecords.co.uk and we will put you in touch with the relevant person.
How do I buy a release by one of your artists?
As the label is very new we have yet to release any product but, from our first release in January 2014, all releases will be available from the store at this site in addition to the usual sources such as iTunes and Amazon.
How do I find out more about one of your artists?
If you want to know more about our artists and get to know them more intimately there are links to their own websites on the individual artists pages. From there you will also find links to social media pages where you can interact with artists directly.
My question isn't listed above, what should I do?
If you'd like to know more about the label or wish to contact us for any other reason please go to the contact page. We promise we'll reply.
